CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE by BIRSTALL SHOPPING PARK

One of my favourite things to do and something I've done for as long as I can remember is a mother daughter shopping day trip. Like mother like daughter, we both are big bargain hunters and we love to browse the shelves to see what deals we can find. With a wide range of stores available, our most loved ones at Birstall Shopping Park near Leeds is TK Maxx, neighbouring Homesense (p.s. it's the best one I've ever been too!) and Ikea. We also tend to make a mid-morning pitstop at the Costa Coffee in Next before eyeing up their Next Home section! So we spent a few hours shopping for Christmas gifts and I wanted to share with you the items that stood out to me most to hopefully give you a little inspiration into what's available and what you may want to buy for your loved ones this year!

The Clarins Products Everyone Must Try

Clarins is a brand I feel I was almost brought up to know (thank you mum!). Through my mum's obsession & ultimate brand dedication, I soon latched on to this obsession myself and vice versa with me teaching her in return to step out of her comfort zone to try other brands. That being said, Clarins is definitely a brand that provides a select few staples that I have loved for a long time now. Staples that I am almost certain I will continue to repurchase for many years to come. So if you love beauty as much as I do, and want to discover so absolute beauty must-haves from Clarins, then sit back grab a coffee and let's get sharing!

AUTUMN LOOKBOOK | THREE OUTFITS ONE BAG

Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I love the beautiful sunny days whilst feeling the crisp and cold fresh air. I love getting out and taking long countryside walks but above all I love the fashion. Being able to get cosy, light the candles and put the log burner on is the most comforting thing to me. Alongside that, I love the cosy leggings, the big knit jumpers, the over knee boots and comfy coats! Today I have teamed up and collaborated with Angti & Yang, a handbag brand that offered to send me their Cycle bag in the colour Rice. I have styled three of my current favourite outfits for Autumn (albeit a fairly warm autumn we're currently experiencing) each with the same Cycle bag. I'll allow the pictures to do the talking and if you want to shop anything from these looks, I have linked everything still available below along with alternatives where necessary.

Guest Bedroom Makeover | Tidy & Transform

I feel like today has been long coming and I'm finally excited to reveal our newly updated and tidied guest bedroom! It's only a mini makeover as we are more than likely going to move house within the next year or two. Therefore we didn't want to invest too much into transforming the room and especially not with anything we can't take with us in future.

Come Shopping With Me | The Trafford Centre

If you follow me on Instagram stories, you may have noticed my recent little trip to the intu Trafford Centre. A common misconception for visitors to Manchester that it's in the city but in fact I see it as a separate trip completely. You can easily spend a full day here and if shopping isn't your thing, there's an extensive list of places to dine to suit everyone, along with a cinema, sea life and Legoland centre, mini golf and much more. A short drive over the road and you even have an indoor skydive and ski slope centre! So plenty on offer for all members of the family, but I personally like to stick to the shops. With a new addition to the centre, Argento is a jewellery store filled with many 'blogger favourite' brands. Selfridges have also completed phase one of there Beauty Hall transformation so I took a sneak peek and even treated myself to an appointment at Tom Ford. With keeping up to date and always adding new exciting brands, intu Trafford Centre is paid with regular visits from myself, not to mention I used to work at the Hollister there! It's also reminiscent of when we lived in America when my mum and I used to love trips out to the American shopping malls, they even have my favourite fast food chain Five Guys!

Where Are The Most Life-Affirming Places To Travel?

Where are the most life-affirming places to travel? This is a worthwhile question, because we are only allowed a certain amount of vacations in our lifetime. This is true even if we can take a new one every week. Quality must outdo quantity, and of course this will depend on what form of experience you cherish the most. However, there are some universally wonderful things you can experience if you would only take the chance to appreciate and take the risk of enjoying them.

These following suggestions might be much different to how you usually appreciate or expect a vacation to be, but the effort of trying to head to these foreign shores could gift you something you might not have known you needed.

My Skincare Routine

My obsession with skincare only really started within the last couple of years. After constantly hearing that anti-age products should start being used from 25, I feel like now, I've really starting investing more time and money into good products and a regular skincare routine.

Being Your Own Boss

One of my ultimate goals in live has always been to be my own boss. Having suffered with anxiety since a young age (officially diagnosed at 14) my most happy and comfortable place is generally when I am at home and relaxed. Events, jobs, travel are just a few amongst many other things that can bring on my anxiety. Even something seen to anyone else as insignificant as going to the shops for instance, has brought on stress. I could do a whole story time video on my Youtube Channel all about how I have had to deal with stress, depression and anxiety but that's not really today's focus. Today I'm taking about working for yourself and being your own boss. The idea of being my own boss for me personally is the most healthiest and happiest I feel with less pressure from others and in particular not letting others down. Therefore not only being my own boss but also pursuing my career as a full-time blogger and Youtuber, has given me the flexibility of doing something I love and right now, my motivation to work is at an all-time high. With a few things lined up and lots of creative ideas running around in my head, I felt inspired today to write a little post all about being my own boss and how this can be achieved by you too if that's what you're after.

Dining at Pier Eight and the Sleeping Beauty Ballet at The Lowry

Myself and Tom were very kindly invited down to watch the Ballet performance of Sleeping Beauty at The Lowry this week. It was a first for the both of us and we thoroughly enjoyed it! You can stay tuned for more footage on my weekly vlog next Sunday however in the meantime, I wanted to share with you another new discovery of ours. We were also invited to dine the new Pre-Theatre set menu in the adjacent restaurant called Pier Eight. I have to say we were both very pleasantly surprised! We weren't expecting the standard of food we received at the price point set. Having worked in the industry ourselves, we recognise great cooking abilities and if you're after great value for money, I couldn't recommend the Pier Eight restaurant enough.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas 2018

It's that time again whereby we take just one day out of the year to tell our Mother's we love them....WRONG! Every day we should make them feel loved and appreciated and thank them for everything they have provided and given us to make us the individuals we are today. And to all those who sadly don't have a mother in their lives, Mother's Day is an opportunity for reflection and sentimental contemplation. This year, I have been shopping online and spending hours on Pinterest for gift ideas to give your Mother this year, but above all the greatest gift I think you can give, is time. Whether it be one on one, an experience day or even set a date to meet sometime soon, gifting your mother with your time spent with her how she likes, is the greatest gift in my opinion. Nevertheless, if you're after some gift inspiration, here are some of my favourite gift ideas I've come across to spoil your mother rotten!

An Update...

Hello beautiful people! I wanted to come on my blog and fill you all in with a few exciting things I have coming up. If you're yet to have seen, I now do weekly vlogs over on my Youtube Channel which I upload every Sunday morning. Not only have I been loving filming these videos for you guys but I also love editing them and using them as a chance to look back and reflect myself. Even if just one person watched my vlogs and liked them it would make doing them worthwhile and even if it's me as that one person I'd be fine with that but you guys seem to be loving them too which is a bonus. My point is, is that I tend to keep you fairly up to date with what's going on in my life in those videos but ultimately they are a week behind. So for now, here's a few things I was so excited to share with you...

New In | January Monthly Favourites 2018

Happy hump day to all those celebrating the end of what always seems to be a very long month. Most people talk of the 'January Blues' however for me January marks both mine and my Mum's birthday as well as of course a brand new start to a brand new year. Plenty to celebrate in my eyes! So what's new this month...first and foremost let's talk me, my health and my new exercise regime. As with for many people, January marks a new beginning to a 'new year, new me' and also a new gym membership. I'm afraid to say I fell into the cliche this year myself. Towards the second half of last year, I decided to cancel my Pure Gym membership as I found myself enjoying a couple of outdoor runs every week. The fresh air and open space I found kept me more motivated to run rather than the content clock watching on a treadmill. However as it got colder and into this month, the thought of going for a run out in the cold is right at the back of my mind. In order to keep up with the regular exercise I decided to renew my membership and I'm so glad I have!

Barcelona Travel Guide

Hello, happy Sunday (if you're reading this on a Sunday of course...)! I hope everyone is well. I unfortunately have not been 100% the last couple of weeks fighting through the coughing and sneezing, myself and Tom took a trip to Barcelona! We had such a fabulous time and enjoyed every second of it. I certainly was not going to let this cold defeat me. Having said that, I would love to go back and experience the city again (minus the Lemsip). Perhaps one summer we will head back and maybe even stay closer to the beach because we loved it that much! I thought in light of my very speedy weekend there, I would follow up with a few tips and tricks on what to do during a weekend in Barcelona...enjoy!

The Art of Macrame

Macramé is a new found love of mine. With the prospect of a potential house move in 2018, homeware and interior design is something I have been obsessing over in particular on my Pinterest page. I feel like more and more people are discovering the art of Macrame and I have even started to spot more of it on the high street. I thought I'd share with you a few Macrame finds that I have added to my wishlist both in the form of wall art and hanging planters. A friend of mine has recently fallen pregnant and also broody is not currently in my vocabulary, I did get very excited when we were looking at ways to introduce Macramé into the nursery too!

My New Year's Resolutions and Goals for 2018

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fabulous time over the festive period and overindulged as much as I certainly did! I know it's coming to you a little later than I'd hoped but I thought I would give you a little insight into my plans and goals for 2018 and sum up the kind of year I've had throughout 2017.
