How to Feng Shui your Home

Being a full time blogger like myself, or having any career that allows you to work from home can be great. However it's important to differentiate living and relaxing in your home environment to your office space and work mode living. I've recently been spending some time decluttering and organising in order to achieve the perfect set up. With our bedroom, kitchen and living room now complete my final room to organise is our 'front room'. With a large empty room at the front of the house and great natural lighting it makes the perfect workspace. We're also fortunate enough to have a gorgeous log burner in there which is currently going to waste. Also what better time than during the festive period to have this room complete. So today I am sharing with you a few tips on how I Feng shui my home.

Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Shopping

How exciting!!! I was very kindly invited down to Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlets for an event they recently held with even more discounts from already heavily discounted items! It's safe to say, I was very much in my element. If you know me, you will know how much of a bargain queen I am! I feel such a sense of achievement when I get a big discount of an item, and boy did I get some great discounts on this trip! Granted, sometimes when you visit designer outlets you can come away with nothing whilst other times, you can come away with lots! I personally don't mind a day trip out browsing with no intention of spending so as to not come away disappointed. This trip however was a very successful one for me so of course I was so excited to share with you all the goodies I picked up!

Furthermore, a new addition to the centre is the premium parking facility. If you have been before, you will know that competition is stiff when it comes to getting a good parking space. With the addition of Premium Parking, you can now reserve a space in advance of your trip to Cheshire Oaks at a small charge of £5. However not only do you gain a guaranteed space in a great spot near the luxury quarter, you also get a 10% privilege card for the day, valid in most stores across most items! I took advantage of this myself and saved myself even more money from the items I chose.

I'd also highly recommend a visit if you're after a specific investment piece to add to your wardrobe, for instance a Winter Coat from Reiss, a leather jacket from All Saints, or an understated handbag from Coach. Perhaps you're yet to start your Christmas shopping? Cheshire Oaks is a great place to start to give that special someone in your life a Christmas present they won't forget! For those of you interested in any of the items I picked up, I have linked them all below for you. If you want to see my shopping vlog and haul video over on my Youtube channel, then grab a cuppa because it's a long one! Enjoy!

Much love

Boyfriend does my ASOS shop

Happy Sunday lovely people!

You may or may not have noticed, I've now started uploading just the once each week to my blog now. However, you may also have noticed that I now try and upload not one, not two but three videos a week! As most of you are now following my Youtube page more, I've decided to dedicate more time to that as that's what more of you seem to love! That does not mean of course that I'm giving up on my blog entirely, but just that I'd rather create more quality content sharing video releases and more product review on here. In order to keep the travel blogging, I'll also include more photos from any trips that I go on here on my blog. So although Sundays are now my only fix for you blogger lovers out there, don'y forget to head over to my Youtube and for daily updates, head to my Instagram and Snapchat by searching 'freyafarrington'!

For now, I will leave you with a brand new video over on my Youtube, and it's a 'Boyfriend Does My ASOS Shop' I hope you enjoy!

Much Love

Designer Dupes and Blogger Mail

Good morning on this lovely sunny and spooky Halloween Sunday. I know it's not technically Halloween until Tuesday this year, but let's be honest, without young children in the family, we're the type to celebrate Halloween over the weekend with a tipple or two. And yes, if you follow me on Snapchat or watched my Instagram Stories from last night, it's safe to say there's a few sore heads in our house this morning. But with no plans other than to get food at some point and just chill with a day of The X Factor catch up and Stranger Things binge watching, it's safe to say, today is a good day for me!

In today's video over on my Youtube channel, I'm talking all things designer dupes in my latest Blogger Mail Unboxing Video. In and amongst the beauty and skin care PR packages, I've also been sent a few items from overseas which includes many loosely-named 'dupes'. I say that because it borders on the verge of being outright fakes, which as you know with this country is fairly taboo. Nevertheless, I simply am showing you what I got and where you can find them. Let me know your thoughts on the 'dupes', head over, see what I got and don't forget to Subscribe if you haven't already!

Primani and Matthew Allan

Why do we refrain from calling them Primark and Matalan. I'm certainly not ashamed of the amazing bargains you can pick up from budget high street stores. Primark is fast becoming one of my favourites. I do have to admit, I avoid it evenings and weekends and I do have to mentally prepare myself to avoid getting flustered. However when I do go in whilst in the best frame of mind, I do spot some great finds! That's why I love being able to share them with you and today's video over on my Youtube channel is an October 2017 Try on Primark Haul! Let me know your favourite pieces and also if you have any other budget-friendly high street stores that you'd like to see me film haul videos for you on!

Brand Focus | Nanoil Hair Oil Review & Demo

Today's blogpost is in collaboration with a video going live on my channel in Friday with a brand called Nanoil. It's been a while since I've done a Brand Focus blogpost and I'd love to get into the habit of doing more so let me know if you like them!

So when I was contacted by this brand to see if I'd like to work with them, having heard of them before but yet to have tried them, I of course said Yes! I'd seen this brand on Instagram several times, but didn't know much about it and hadn't tried it out myself. I've been using the oil after each hair wash for the last couple of weeks and so far so good!

First and foremost, before trying the product, you can take their Hair Porosity Test here to find out which product is best suited to your hair type. There are three types of Nanoil hair oil depending on your results.

LOW Porosity Oil
- for stiff and difficult to style hair
- for hair lacking in volume
- for hair that's smooth but gets greasy quickly
- for hair that's easily weighed down by hair products

MEDIUM Porosity Oil
- for hair that's prone to split ends
- for normal, weak and thinning hair
- for hair devoid of gloss and elasticity
- hair that gets frizzy from humidity

HIGH Porosity Oil
- for severely dry and damaged hair
- for hair that's rough, brittle and easily breaks
- for hair that falls out excessively
- for hair lacking in glossiness and vivid colour

|  M Y  H A I R  T Y P E  |

For comparison, I wanted to briefly talk about my hair type. I have very long naturally fair hair. I've always been naturally blonde however I do treat my hair with a full head of highlights (no bleach!) about 3 times a year. If I'm not careful, my roots can get greasy so I avoid putting any products there other than dry shampoo. The ends can get a little dry but for the length of my hair, it's in pretty good condition. I have always been lucky with the condition of my hair and the time it takes to grow, and I definitely have my Mum's DNA to thank for that! I've never had extensions put into my hair and I get it trimmed each time I have a full head of highlights (so every 4 months or so).

After completing the Hair Porosity Test, my results were that the Medium treatment would be best for my hair type. The Medium Nanoil elixir has a variety of oil included within it to protect, strengthen and restore my hair. The oils included are macadamia oil to restore vitality; organ oil to protect against high temperatures; Marla oil to strengthen the natural protective coating; jojoba oil to regulate sebum secretion; maraca oil to prevent frizz and facilitate combing and finally coconut oil to smooth hair and protect it's ends. The oil has a fairly thick viscosity and isn't as light as my Moroccan oil. However what I really like about the combination of these oils, is that it not only helps me style my hair, but also they protect my hair.

What's your results? You can find out here.

Hello, good morning or good afternoon, whenever you’re reading this blogpost, thank you for coming over and supporting me! Let me know which is your favourite piece and as always let me know if you’d like to see more haul videos from!

Looking ahead to 2018...

Happy Hump Day! As we start the countdown to the weekend, I've realised how much of a productive week I've had so far. All this autumnal rain and cold winds that keep me cooped up inside not wanting to go out, has actually meant that I've been able to get lots of video planning and prepping in for you. Today's video over on my Youtube channel is a combined homeware and fashion haul with a bit of beauty thrown in there for you too! With a busy weekend scheduled in as I have a bloggers brunch to attend, a birthday celebrations meal for both my brother and my dad, I contemplated vlogging. That and all the Vlogtober videos I've been loving so far this month has given me the vlogger bug and I have been strongly thinking about Vlogmas...

That being said, I do think it's important for quality over quantity when it comes to Youtube and although I've tested the waters with my Ibiza Vlog and Barbados Vlog, the mismatch footage from my Panasonic Lumix G80, drone, GoPro and iPhone 7+ I think can be a little off putting. Therefore I think I have decided that 2018 is the year of vlogging and my Christmas and birthday requests this year have been money contributions toward a Canon GX7 Mark 2! I also have a couple of trips planned in already for 2018 and cannot wait to document my travels and everyday activities with quality footage. I'd love for you to head over to my channel, watch todays haul video to see what I have recently picked up and comment your thoughts on my vlogging ventures proposed for 2018... yay or nay?

Much love

Today I have a very exciting video over on my Youtube Channel and its a second instalment of my thoughts on the In The Style collaboration with Sarah Ashcroft. I've also linked below the first video I did which got such great feedback. This time I did find a couple of pieces that I will have to be returning. If you want to see why, then click here and head over to my channel to watch! I'd love to hear your thoughts on which pieces you liked and welcome comments and idea on future hauls you may want to see me film!

Oxygen Facial by Elizabeth Arden

In recent years I have to admit, I have been treated to a variety of facials. I've started realising that I may even prefer it to a full body massage dare I say it! Don't get me wrong, I love going to the salon with Tom and treating ourselves to a couples massage, however as I get older, I think it's important to have a good skincare regime and look after your skin. So when I was very kindly invited down by the Elizabeth Arden team at Boots in the Trafford Centre to try their Oxygen Facial, I gladly accepted.

The facial which lasted around 15-20 minutes was done on the shop floor. Therefore it's perhaps not quite as relaxing as the facials they offer in their salon in the back room that they share with Clarins. However, it is a fraction of the price. They are currently offering these facials at £15 but not only is it such a low price for a facial, but it's also redeemable on products. So especially if you are an Elizabeth Arden fan and buy their products anyway, or even if you're looking to try a new product, I'd definitely recommend booking a facial in advance and making the most our of the experience.

So what was included within the red door facial service...

Firstly, I had a light makeup base on so this was cleansed and toned with ceramide-rich products until my makeup was removed. I opted to leave my mascara and brows on but if you want this removed too, they can of course do so. This was followed by a skin test to see where my problem areas lie. In my case, the elasticity was something that was brought up with which I was advised a daily light exfoliation was solve the problem. A nutrient rich oxygen concoction suited specifically to my skin (Brightening) was then blasted onto my face which was very cool, refreshing and soothing. The menu consists of four different oxygen infused treatments: Lifting, Detoxifying, Brightening and Hydrating.
My facial finished with a moisturising and hydrating day cream and eye cream from the luxe Prevage range which felt divine! I do love getting facials, I find them incredibly relaxing and couldn't;t recommend the Elizabeth Arden Oxygen blast one enough. Finally, I was very kindly gifted a few samples to try out myself at home!

Brand Focus | An Urban Veda Review

I've found myself succumbing to fashion over beauty more so recently. With all the fashion hauls I've been featuring on my Youtube video, I felt it was about time for a little beauty product review. I have to admit, these products were kindly gifted to me however having tried them out for a couple of weeks, so good! I've created a little review and rating system below to go into a bit more depth into what I think of these Urban Veda products. Another thing I love, if like me you hadn't heard of the brand before, they sell discovery sets of each range with smaller sized products for just £19.99. That way you could test out the range before purchasing the full sized items, how cool is that!  And if you're STILL unsure, you can complete a brief questionnaire here to find the perfect range for your skin type. If you have tried any other products from this brand, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Price | £19.99
Quantity | 50ml
Directions | I have been using this liberally over my face and neck before going to bed and after cleansing and toning my skin. I've been using the Clinique cleansing balm followed by the Urban Veda Hydrating Toner.
Features & Thoughts | Pore refining, mattifying, for oil prone skin. Having recently discovered Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream and absolutely loving it, it takes a lot to beat it when comparing moisturisers for me now. However that being said, I use this just at night time and although it does feel a little thicker, I guess that's what you want at night. I'd be interested to try out the day cream in comparison...
Overall Rating | 8/10

Price | £12.99
Quantity | 200ml
Directions | I use this product in the shower and focus on the areas with more dryness like knees and elbows. I also like to use it to exfoliate my back and chest where on the odd occasion I may experience a couple of breakouts. I've been noticing a different having been through a bout of not exfoliating for a while. During the colder months when I use more fake tan, exfoliators are a must, but having been on holiday last month, my tan is only now starting to fade. I will see the benefits more when I start to fake tan but I have to say, it smells lovely!
Features & Thoughts | Cleansing, revitalising, rich in antioxidants.
Overall Rating | 8/10

Price | £13.99
Quantity | 150ml
Directions | I have been using this on a cotton pad all over my face and neck after cleansing with my Clinique cleansing balm.
Features & Thoughts | refines pores, pH balanced, for oil-prone skin. I love using this within my new skin routine and it feels light and very refreshing. The witch hazel, wild mint and tea tree make it smell and feel amazing, I really like this product and I think it's good value for money.
Overall Rating | 9/10

Missguided Autumn Haul 2017

What's new in at Missguided this month...? I picked out some of my favourite looking pieces to try on in this video and share with you. Unfortunately there was a couple of fails I'm sad to say because I do love Missguided. That being said, I do think that one of the best things about Missguided is the ability to read reviews on the product page. Quite often if I'm unsure on sizing or fit, I'll read what the reviews say. You know they are honest and it's helped me massively in the past when ordering the right size. So here is my honest review on some of the Missguided clothes I bought this month! If you like what you see, I've included all links below shop you can shop shop shop!

£1 Poundland Bargains - Designer Dupes and DIYs

After a successful upload of my last Poundland Haul, I decided it was about time to do another! For today's post, I've wanted to share with you the new bits I purchased from both Poundland and Poundworld. I've also shared with you a few DIY ideas in there too to get your brain creatively thinking! I hope you enjoy and if you have any new suggestions that I could maybe feature in a future Poundland Haul, do let me know!

A Lifestyle Update

As you all know, I advertise my blog as a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog however the 'lifestyle' element sometimes gets forgotten. I've recently had a couple of trips abroad as well as attending events and vlogging so seem to be getting into the lifestyle side more and more. In terms of home improvements, DIY and room decor, I've recently filmed a budget £1 Poundland haul with a few hacks. If you're yet to see that video you can click here to watch it. I'm also planning another one very soon so keep your eyes peeled!

In other lifestyle news in Freya's world... myself and Tom have recently been discussing a potential move back to Manchester city centre which yes, means leaving country bumpkin lifestyle behind! However whilst we're both still young and without any commitments, we feel city life should still play a part in our day to day activities with the countryside awaiting us on family visits. After all, we can always move back to the countryside whenever we're ready to settle. So a movies definitely in the pipeline but may be a while off yet. When we get there, you can expect moving vlogs, room tours and lots more exploring posts which is of course ideal for any blogger!

In the meantime, I've been collective a few homeware pieces over the last couple of months or so ready to decorate our next home. I've also been contacted recently to review a few home appliances including microwaves and sound bars. It's therefore safe to say that my tech spec speak has improved and when out shopping now, I find myself gravitating towards the homeware section as opposed to the fashion section which I never saw coming! If you want more information on what products I have been reviewing, you can find out more here and here for the microwaves, and here and here for the sound bars and speakers.

As for everything else in my life right now, I'm glad to say I'm in a very happy place! I'm looking forward to these Autumn months (*ok maybe not the rain) but the cosy fashion, the pumpkin spiced lattes and of course Halloween! I'm also very grateful for the growth my Youtube has been getting since started videos almost 4 months ago now! It's hard work but so rewarding, I love it so much and am glad to say I've finally found what I know I've wanted to do in my life!

Full Face using NARS Makeup Tutorial

You may or may not know, NARS is my all-time favourite brand of makeup! I love their makeup look principle of all natural tones with one pop of colour, whether that be a bright red lip or a burnt orange smokey eye. My pop of colour in this natural and minimal makeup look is with NARS eyeshadow in Persia. Persia is a deep rusty burnt orange colour that I love! I hope you enjoy and don't forget to tag me in any pictures of your NARS makeup looks!

A Jo Malone Designer Candle £3.99 Dupe!

You may have heard the most talked about dupe of the moment is the Aldi candles for £3.99 as a dupe for the Jo Malone £40+ candles! I was fortunate enough to come across this dupe myself on a recent trip to Aldi. There were three scents in total, of which each I will go into more information below. If you've tried these candles or know of any great dupes, do let me know! I included these candles in my latest homeware and fashion haul which you can view here!

This of all the three candles in my opinion is the most similar. I have the Jo Malone Hand soap in this scent and cannot tell the difference!

I have the Jo Malone cologne in this scent and this is the second closest in similarity. All three candles are great value for money.

This is my all time favourite scent from Jo Malone. I have a few products in this scent from Jo Malone and therefore feel like there is a slight difference. That being said, it's still a lovely scented candle and I did have to rummage the shelf to find the last one in this scent.

Today I have a different haul that I’ve been so excited to film! I love watching these cheap clothing hauls myself as you know how much of a bargain shopper I am! In this video I have combined several items I recently got from a few different cheap online clothing companies based in China. Some of these brands include, SheIn, Rosegal, Romwe, Yoins and Zaful. I'd say shipping time took 15-20 days and I didn't have to pay any import tax no receiving the items. I was very grateful to these companies for allowing me to choose a few pieces from their websites and as always all opinions are my own. There were a few items I'm in love with and those I'm not so keen on. I have included the more summery items in this video and will be filming a separate video in a week or so with all the autumnal pieces. In the meantime however, I hope you like it!

The Four Essential Styles All Students Need

Hey hey, it's that time of the year when a lot of people are getting anxious for their next big university venture! Whether you're headed to a big city or a camper university in the middle of nowhere, I've teamed up with to bring you my 4 essential styles that I believe every student will need throughout their time at university.

| S T Y L E  o n e |

I like to call this look the Hangover look. A casual and comfy yet still stylish outfit will be a regular look. Be prepared for a few mornings with a sore head from the night before and comfort will be your saviour. You can shop this look here:

PLT Black Lace Up Joggers £20 -
PLT White Lace Up Crop Top £15 -
PLT Black & White Crop Knit Jumper £10 -

| S T Y L E  t w o |

I like to refer to this look as the everyday uni outfit - effortlessly chic all whilst remaining comfortable. Layers are essential with some lecture rooms being warmer than others and of course weather dependant, lots of layers will help. I love these comfortable striped trousers, and paired with a linen shirt you can't go wrong. Throw on a distressed denim jacket and you're good to go! You can shop this look here:

PLT Black Distressed Denim Jacket £45 -
PLT Striped Casual Trousers £20 -
PLT White Oversized Casual Shirt £18 -

| S T Y L E  t h r e e |

I'd say the third look is your game face outfit. There will be occasions when comfort isn't quite appropriate enough. Perhaps you're off to an interview for a part time job to fund your nights out, or maybe you have a big presentation in the morning. Throw on an all black outfit like this and you're sure to impress. You can shop this look here:

PLT Black Roll Neck Bodysuit £12 -
PLT Black Casual Culottes - £15

| S T Y L E  f o u r |

Last but not least, you need plenty of 'night on the town' outfits and this LBD is the perfect fit. Accessorising Your Way To A More Stylish AW17 Wardrobe

Autumn is just around the corner. In just a few weeks time the leaves will begin to turn that gorgeous shade of burnt orange, Starbucks will start stocking their famous pumpkin spiced lattes, and autumn fashion will come into play.

If you are somewhat of a fashionista who always likes to ensure that they stay on trend, then you most probably have a wardrobe packed full of beautiful clothes from the last season or two that you have only worn once or twice. Instead of tossing them out with the rubbish, accessorise them up and transform them into chic AW17 pieces.

The fact is that styles don’t change that much over just a few months, and so it’s easy to bring pieces from the previous season up to date with a couple of well thought out accessories, while still keeping your look modern and minimalist. For a little AW17 stylespiration (do you like what I’ve done there ;), then just read on!

Invest in a red-toned bag

If you know me, you know how much I avoid colours and I naturally opt for neutrals and monochrome all the time. However when it comes to colour, I feel autumn is a great season to break from my comfort zone with earthy tones like olive, khaki, burnt orange and Bordeaux red. For AW17, red is the colour of the season, which means that you must, must, must invest in something red to tie each of your outfits together, and what better accessory than a red bag? Whether it is a handbag, satchel, or clutch, it doesn’t matter, all that matters is that you get your hands on a stylish red-toned bag. However if a red bag is a little far from your sense of style, then how about a classic pair of red heels then.

Treat yourself to some new pieces of jewellery

To accessorise any look, jewellery is key. Whether that is costume jewellery - aka pieces from the high street - or more minimal pieces with more value and meaning (much more me), it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that you have a few pretty pieces to team with different looks to help add that little touch of additional style. If like me, you're not normally a big fan of jewellery, then why not have a piece of custom made jewellery created for you? That way you can ensure that you will like the piece and will want to wear it.

Swap your flats for heels

One simple way to add a little extra style to your look is to swap your flats for heels. Heels elevate a look, both physically and literally. A pair of heels instantly makes an outfit look more stylish and more sophisticated, as well as significantly more on trend. A favourite, and more importantly comfortable transition for me, is with the addition of heeled over the knee suede boots.

Pick out some eye-catching tights

This coming season, tights are big business - they are set to transform from an accessory into a style statement. So if you want to bring your wardrobe up to the next level, investing in a few stylish pairs of tights - ideally, bright coloured and patterned - could be the answer.

Want to accessorise your way to a more stylish wardrobe for AW17? Take note of the inspiration above, and you can add additional style to your wardrobe, allowing you to create a range of on-trend looks this coming season.
