Top 15 White Themed Fashion Blogs that Inspire Me

I take a lot of inspiration from other bloggers and artists in order to keep in theme with a white feed for my blog; Freya Farrington. There are a lot of influential bloggers that exist now and I truly believe that the best way to blog is to write about something you love and follow suit with a theme that you are passionate about. I love the clean, crisp look of a blog with monochromatic shades and tones and in particular I love all things white!

After having a recent wardrobe clearout with the intention of trying to get rid of the things that I haven't worn in the past year or so, my wardrobe now feels a lot cleaner, organised and ultimately more minimalist. Before doing this clearout, I found inspiration from other fashion bloggers with a similar theme, browsed their feed and whilst going through my clothing items told myself, would this person be likely to have this item in their wardrobe. If not, I then asked myself, if I've not worn this item in the past year, am I really that likely to wear it again. And that is how I ultimately came to my final minimalist clothing collection.

If you enjoy the clean, crisp and white look that I love so much, and if you are interested in looking for some inspiration yourself, then here are a few people I look to for inspiration for a white feed theme.

iMantara Massage Products Review

What they saySheer shower opulence in a bottle; this formulation beautifully nourishes skin thanks to its potent blend of Coconut extracts and Olive oil. Thai Jasmine water and Jasmine Sambac essential oil soothe, revive and restore body and mind.
What I say - This product is good, but it didn't blow me away unfortunately. Although I haven't really got anything negative to say about it, it just isn't a body wash that I'd re-purchase as I have others that I prefer. That's not to say it isn't bad, like I say, there isn't really a negative, it's just not got that 'luxury' spa feel I was hoping for. The formula is very moisturising upon application and I feel it's best used with a loafer to lather it up!
Overall Rating - 6/10

What they sayA rich formula that effortlessly sinks into the skin and quickly hydrates your limbs. Jojoba and Thai Coconut Oils are incredibly moisturising and restorative. Shea Butter leaves legs and arms super smooth whilst Jasmine flower extract invigorates, Rose Geranium balances and Peppermint essential oil energises.
What I say - I feel very similar with this product as I do to the body wash. Out of the two I'd be more likely to use this body lotion purely down to the fact that I am yet to find an alternative body lotion that I absolutely love. Unlike the body wash where there are others I'd reach for. Nevertheless, the formula is light, easily applied, dries fairly quickly without leaving a sticky residue and I will continue to use this body lotion. I feel it would be a great one to take away with you on holiday for in the evenings as an after sun lotion as it has that exotic smell that is very tropical.
Overall Rating - 6.5/10

What they sayA powerful blend of the finest Thai Jasmine flower extract, that has an instant energising and restorative effect on both mind and body. Thai Rice Bran, Sweet Almond and Safflower oils are deeply hydrating, while added Vitamin E is rich in antioxidants.
What I say - This is definitely my favourite product from the three. If anyone knows me well, they know that I absolutely love going to the spa and treating myself to a massage, as does my boyfriend so to have a massage oil at home that we can use ourselves is great. It smells divine and if I close my eyes, my senses take me back to being in the spa having a professional massage. I'd love a scented candle from this range to top it all off!
Overall Rating - 8.5/10

How to keep white clothes white

A popular question on my recent All-White Lookbook in collaboration with The Chic Blog...

As a profound lover of all things white, and I mean all things (I could literally have my entire house/wardrobe/life in white and I'd be happy), one of the most popular questions I was asked for the lookbook was how I keep my white clothes white. With a lot of trial and error (more error than success) I thought I'd share four tips on how I find it works best to keep my white clothes...white!

Firstly it's important to ensure you are washing your white clothes separate from any other colours. If there any any stains, you can pre-treat them first and always wash them on a high heat setting. If you can, let them air dry as opposed to tumble dry and always ensure you iron them. Much like straightening your hair makes it appear longer, I feel ironing them makes then cleaner, crisper and even whiter. If you are feeling a little more adventurous, you can even add some lemon juice or white vinegar to the wash as a natural brightener, then let them dry in the sun as the ultraviolet rays will brighten the garments even more.

Avoid putting your makeup on before getting dressed, especially if you are wearing a high neck white top. It's almost unavoidable and you can guarantee foundation on the neck if you are not careful, we've all been there! If you are headed on a shopping trip where there is a likely chance you are going to be paying regular visits to the fitting rooms, make sure to avoid cream based products, always set your makeup with plenty of powder and fix spray, and lastly, avoid wearing bright coloured lipstick on that day.

A great tip to keep your white dress white before arriving at an event, grey, black or other neutral toned duster jackets are a great way to protect yourself from any unwanted marks.

Don't have them, and if you already do, wear black!

Brand Focus - Pur Minerals and Amazing Cosmetics

I have recently been receiving quite a few press releases for new products and as grateful as I am to receive them and as much as I like to feature every item I liked in a blogpost, there simply isn't enough room on my blog! However, when I am fortunate enough to come across something that I absolutely love and something that I would genuinely re-purchase again for myself in the future, I feel it completely obligatory to share them with you. A PR agency I have been working closely with recently sent me some products from Pur Minerals and Amazing Cosmetics which after trying them out, I had to share on here!

Although these emerging brands are not as commonly discussed as some of the bigger brands like MAC, Nars and Chanel, they are brands that I have previously seen in Youtube videos, notably in Shannon Harris' Vlogs on Youtube (see her channel here). After looking more into the Pur Minerals Cosmetics brand, there is quite an endearing backstory and working partnership with a charity called Action Against Hunger. You can purchase Pur Minerals and Amazing Cosmetics in the UK either online or in Marks & Spencer.

Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer £19.50 for 6ml or £29.50 for 15ml
Amazing Cosmetics Perfection Stick £17.99 for 3.7g
Pur Minerals 4 in 1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Compact £27 for 8g
Pur Minerals Eye Polish £17 for 2.8g
Pur Minerals Cameo Contour £27 for 1.4g
Pur Minerals Perfecting Brow Powder £16 for 2g
Pur Minerals Volume Vixen 4in1 Mascara £16 for 5g
Pur Minerals 14 hour 4in1 Foundation £27 for 30ml
Pur Minerals 4 in 1 Pressed Mineral Makeup £27 for 8g
Pur Minerals Lip Lure  £16 for 1.4g

1) Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer
£19.50 for 6ml or £29.50 for 15ml
I got the shade 'Fair' for my skin with the intention of using it under my foundation as a blemish colour corrector as well as an under eye concealer and highlighter. The consistency is fairly thick and heavy with full coverage and long lasting power. It blends really will but it's important to realise that a little goes a long way with this concealer. Overall I'm very impressed with the coverage albeit a little heavy for under the eyes. I think I'll stick to my trusty Collection Concealer for day to day but in those special occasion when I'm after a flawless look and a little more coverage, I'd reach for this little amazing tube of goodness!

2) Amazing Cosmetics Perfection Stick
£17.99 for 3.7g
I have two of these, one in 'Fair' and one in 'Deep'. This product is unlikely to match your skin tone perfectly as a concealer as there are only 4 shades in the range so it's best used and contour and highlight in my opinion. The fair is great for under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose and only all the high points of my face with the deep to be used as a contour. The small, pencil like shape is great for precision if you like the deep contoured effect, you can create a perfect line to blend as you like.

3) Pur Minerals 4 in 1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Compact
£27 for 8g
Unfortunately I wasn't blown away by this product. It does the job as a light dust of powder on top of my foundation to help set it, but I wouldn't use it as a foundation alone. I feel like there are drug store dupe alternatives of this particular product priced at a more affordable amount. I really using the Rimmel pressed powder in translucent.

4) Pur Minerals Eye Polish
£17 for 2.8g
I was lucky enough to receive four different colours of this product, and I say 'lucky' because I love this eye polish. The only thing that I'm not overly fussed with is the spatula that comes with it as I found it far easier to just use my finger. You can see from the swatch how pigmented they are and great if you are after a metallic, dewy finish. The colours I received are called Satin, Velvet, Suede and Caviar. I love all four of these colours with my favourite everyday one being Satin and Suede is great for a bronzed smokey eye for a night out. I assumed caviar would be black but it has an amazing green iridescent effect to it for that little extra sparkle. I love these and would definitely purchase more colours.

5) Pur Minerals Cameo Contour
£27 for 1.4g
This is by far my favourite product within the entire collection sent to me. I have used this almost everyday and love the finish it gives. I use it as a highlight and contour on top of my Clarins BB cream with no need for a foundation. It's coverage is good enough for no need to add a foundation too and it blends phenomenally. It also came wth a mini beauty blender which I will definitely find use for, even though I currently use my foundation brush to blend it out. I love this product and will definitely be re-purchasing it once I am out!

6) Pur Minerals Perfecting Brow Powder
£16 for 2g
This product has been taking a bit of getting used to as it's not easy to use. At first I just did not like it, it didn't work for me but I have since tried it out a few more times and the more I use it, the better finish it gives. Practice makes perfect with this product and it's one that I'd recommend to thicken the brows and give a fuller look if that is what you like for your brows.

7) Pur Minerals Volume Vixen 4in1 Mascara
£16 for 5g
This is a great everyday mascara that is easy to apply and long lasting. My go to mascaras are thicker wands like this one so it works well for me but if you prefer a small, thin mascara wand then this one isn't for you.

8) Pur Minerals 14 hour 4in1 Foundation
£27 for 30ml
The first pro of this foundation is that it comes with a pump, which for some reasons seems to be another expensive add on with a lot of other mid-high end brands. The coverage is medium, not as heavy as I usually opt for, but if I were after a thinner one, say on holiday, then this is definitely one I'd use. It's similar in consistency to Nars Sheer Glow, which is one of my favourites, but just a little less coverage.

9) Pur Minerals Lip Lure
£16 for 1.4g

This lip lacquer is incredibly pigmented considering it's so hydrating. On the lips it feels more like a lip balm, the consistency is really light, moisturising and non-sticky and so easy to apply. The fact that the colour pay-off is so great, it's best applied with a mirror unlike a lip balm to ensure it looks neat. It lasts a really long time too and I was impressed how well it lasted even after wearing it out to an evening meal. I have three colours, Graceful, Belle and Fiery with my favourite one being Graceful and here you can see me wearing Belle. The only thing that lets this product down a little is the colour range. I tend to use more neutral brown tones and corals, however all of the colours are dark pink tones. Nevertheless, a very impressive formula that I hope develops a wider colour range in future.
