A White Wishlist from Farfetch

As social media in recent weeks in the UK have been overloaded with the EU referendum and the Euros football, I've taken my mind away from all the drama and have been doing a little retail therapy! A recent favourite online shop of mine has been Farfetch; an online boutique that houses all the top designers, much like a Selfridges or Harvey Nichols (I have included a small informative note at the bottom of this blogpost if you are interested in finding out more about Farfetch and what it offers as a brand). I have been a big fan of the brand for a while now, so when Farfetch recently reached out to me as one of their chosen bloggers to work with them and even get the chance to meet the team next month, I have been inspired to dedicate this week's post to them. Farfetch have sent me a bloggers content pack which has inspired me to create a 'white themed' wishlist from items available on Farfetch. If you follow my blog, you will know I love all things monochrome, and in particular all things white. So here are some of my favourite white items from their shop that I want to share with you in this week's 'White Wishlist' blogpost.

Featured Products:
- Nike Nikelab Bruin Sneakers
- Chloe Crochet White Dress
- La Perla Merveille White Lace Bra  *this is my favourite item, I love the brand and the quality is impeccable
- Maiyet Drawstring Waist White Jumpsuit
- Michael Kors A-Line Mid Rise Skirt
- YSL Monogram Clutch in White Croc-Embossed
- Eve Lom Rescue Mask
- Giuseppe Zanetti 'Cruel' Design
- Diptyque Baies Scented Candle

15 White Themed Fashion & Beauty Blogpost Ideas

As you may notice, Freya Farrington has had a fairly recent makeover. I wanted to make my blog more appealing to the eye and easier to browse with a sense of fluidity. I achieved this with a white feed theme where my posts and pictures are centred around monochrome objects. There are other ways to accomplish the fluid theme but I truly believe that by having a theme for your blog and social media platforms makes it more appealing to your readers. If you are interested in how I achieve my white feed theme, or some inspiration and ideas on blogposts that I will be writing and have already written, or even if you are a blogger looking for some inspiration on what to write about, then here are a few upcoming blogpost ideas...

Brand Focus - Models Own

I'm super excited to be sharing this weeks blogpost with you - to celebrate the launch of the brand new makeup products from Models Own, I was lucky enough to recieve a box of goodies to review for Freya Farrington readers. Models Own have had a recent brand makeover and I must say they have really upped their game amongst a world full of beauty competitors! With hundreds of new products added to their line, I have tried and tested a selection of them to give you my honest opinion and true review of the Models Own makeup range. It's also important to note, Models Own is a drugstore brand so I took into consideration the affordability of each of these products and compared them to other makeup products of a similar standard.

Model's Own is a brand that prides itself on its brave and bold attitude, and this new line definitely fits that image. The brand focuses on bold and bright colours, perfect for those makeup lovers who are feeling brave this spring/summer. The packaging was so bright and colourful and definitely got me excited to open each and every product when the parcel arrived through the door. As you know, personally, I'm not one for drastic colours, after all, Freya Farrington is all about white, grey and black. A white feed is what makes me happy, however I was particularly impressed with some of these products and if you follow me on snapchat, you would have seen that I even had a play around with the electric blue eyeliner and eyeshadow!

Product: Eye Shadow Palette in Sweet Dreams
Price: £14.99
Thoughts: First of all, the packaging stood out to me! The bright colours and sweets definitely caught my attention, then the palette itself being white was of course appealing to me, I love white! The iridescent writing on the palette is like a mini rainbow and the colours of the eyeshadows when you open the sweet dreams palette complemented that. My favourite colours to use so far have been Dolly Mix, which I used to smudge out the kohl pencil liner in electric indigo, and I also really like toffee. The colour pay off is great and the colours are really blendable. I can't imagine I will be getting much use out of the pink shades as I find those colours really hard to work and you have to be careful you don't just make yourself look like you have red, tired eyes. Nevertheless, the Toffee shade is a great day-to-day and I really enjoyed playing around with Dolly Mix!

Product: i-Definer Kohl Pencil Eyeliner in Electric Indigo
Price: £5.99
Thoughts: At first sight of this eyeliner, I couldn't wait to try this out on my lower lash line in a reverse smokey eye look. Then when I swatched the kohl eye liner and noticed the glitter pigments I couldn't help but be a little disappointed. However when I did try it, I was actually really impressed! I was put off by the glitter pigments and probably still would prefer it if they weren't there, however they were hardly even noticeable once I had applied the liner. The liner did last well and I smudged/set the liner using the Dolly Mix blue eyeshadow from the Sweet Dreams palette.

Product: i-Definer Kajal Kohl Liner
Price: £7.99
Thoughts: This eyeliner is a product I've never used before. I was impressed with how soft the formula is and it's not harsh at all when applying it. I personally used it for a smokey eye because the soft formula makes it really blendable. I'm also not one to have mastered the cat eye look, I much prefer a more natural eye look and if I do go dramatic on the eyes for a night out, I always smoke it out. This product is great for that, I'd love to try tin a brown version which Models Own are yet to introduce.

Product: Now Brow! Eyebrow Pencil & Blender Duo in Chestnut
Price: £7.99
Thoughts: Unfortunately this was a big thumbs down for me! Firstly the shade was to warm toned for my brows which wasn't their fault, so I judged this on the product itself however it still just didn't compare to my current brow routine. I flick between using a couple of different products on my brows with my favourite being Mac Eyebrow pencil in Fling and Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Pomade in Taupe. I find that for eyebrows, the formula need to be harder unlike the soft eyeliner in order to define the hairs and get a clean crisp finish. Although the pencil end was ok, the blender end I just could not work, not for me this one!

Product: Rock 'n' Rosy Blusher Stick in Peach Pop
Price: £6.99
Thoughts: LOVE! Both the colour and the formula, this was a great hit for me. Definitely better with a tan, the creamy product formula of this blush left a lovely dewy glow finish on my skin and the colour is one of my favourite colours to use for blush. I love orange toned blushes and lips for blond haired blue eyes with a tan, it's my favourite makeup love! Great find and highly recommended!

Product: Sculpt & Glow Contouring Bronzing Powder in Deep Tan
Price: £8.99
Thoughts: This is another one of my favourite products from this collection. I have always said that my all time favourite bronzer and the one that I use for every day and night makeup look, believe it or not is £1 from MUA. I have quite a lot of bronzers in my makeup collection but that one is the one I always go back to and would always be the first one to recommend to friends. However the sculpt & glow contouring bronzing powder by Models Own is the closest bronzer I have found to my staple favourite MUA bronzer. The only reason I wouldn't repurchase this is the price difference, why pay £8.99 when you can get one for £1, it still baffles me every time I mention that it is only £1!!!

Product: Sculpt & Glow Liquid Highlighter in Rose Gold
Price: £9.99
Thoughts: I definitely think you ned to use this if you have darker skin or when you have a tan. I use it when I have fake tan on and I actually put it on first. Putting the liquid highlighter on my cheekbones and highlighting points as a base before my foundation give my skin that extra bronzed glow that I love! I then take a tiny amount just to finish off the highlighted look after my foundation.

Product: Lip Gunk Lip Paint Kit (Metallic) in Fusion
Price: £10.99
Thoughts: I was super excited to try this out following Kylie Jenner's latest makeup venture into the metal matte lip kits. Unfortunately the colour Fusion for me is far too bold, but of course, out of curiosity I tried it anyway to test the formula. The precision lip brush makes it easy to go apply and I actually really like that metallic finish. I think it makes your lips look a lot fuller and I will definitely be going to the shop to try out a more wearable colour, either Titanium or Liven Up.

Product: Lip Gunk Lip Paint Kit (Gloss) in Wild
Price: £10.99
Thoughts: Both lip kits came in a clear plastic wallet which if I'm being completely honest is a great idea for storage of the mini brush and metal tray however it smelt plasticy and cheap so I threw it away. Although the finish of these Paint Kit's are ok, I'm not a fan of the application process and I personally much prefer a lipstick or lipgloss rather than the faff, it may be different if you were a makeup artist but for an ordinary makeup lover like me, it's a little too much hassle for me to be using on a regular basis.

Product: Luxestick Velvet Lipstick in Plush Peony
Price: £7.99
Thoughts: The actual lipstick packaging is surprisingly big. I have the Muji Acrylic Lipstick holders for all of my lipsticks however due to the size of this lipstick, I had to put it in the same draw as my lip glosses. Aside from that, the formula of the lipstick is good. It's drugstore quality, with nothing wrong with it, but it just didn't have that luxury feel like a high end lipstick would give you. For me, its a day to day, summery lipstick to wear but not one I'd reach for on a night out or for a special occasion. I personally would pay a few more pounds for a MAC or NARS lipstick.

All in all, I think Models Own new look has done them justice, it still remains an affordable drugstore brand but if you are a sucker for fun packaging like me, you will love Models Own!

*The products listed in this post were kindly gifted to me by Wizard Publicity but as always, all opinions are of my own and true to how I feel.

Intu Trafford Centre - The S/S16 £50 Challenge

Spring has sprung and to celebrate the S/S16 fashion season, the lovely PR team at Intu Trafford Centre in Manchester were kind enough to send me a £50 voucher for me to spend on a S/S16 outfit of my choice. I successfully completed the challenge with 2p to spare so a big pat on the back to me! I decided to spend the voucher in the new Zara flagship store that has recently opened and that covers 2 floors! If you love Zara as much as I do, then you will be pleased to know that not only has the previous Zara expanded to both floors, but there is also a Zara Home that has recently opened as well as two of its sister brands, Pull & Bear and Stradivarius due to open in summer. If you live local to the Intu Trafford Centre in Manchester, they have regular fashion shows on throughout spring and summer so make sure to visit and see what new lines the stores have.

The S/S16 Trends that Intu Trafford Centre are focusing on:

90's Fashion - The most profound trend seems to be the return of the 90s era. Chocker collars, boho vibes and bold prints have been taken on by Miss Selfridge, Next, River Island and Monsoon.

Nautical Stripes - Another big favourite of the S/S16 season, are Nautical stripes.  Brands including Zara, Toyshop and River Island showcase this and I even managed to incorporate a more toned down, subtle version of this trend in my £50 challenge.

Monochrome - This is my favourite trend, pretty much the majority of my wardrobe is monochrome. I like the versatility of sticking to the neutral tones and stable pieces as you can mix and match to have hundreds of different outfit looks! Some brands that have embraced this trend are The Kooples, Moschino, Reiss and my favourite, Zara. Here's a little snapshot of my monochrome wardrobe.

My £50 S/S16 Outfit:

As we all know, the UK is renowned for it's unreliable Spring and Summers; one minute we are all out sunbathing catching as much Vitamin D as we possibly can and the next, the April showers spring upon us out of nowhere, we've even had snow this April! Therefore I chose a two piece, casual outfit that I can wear for most occasions when the weather does start to warm up. The first piece I bought, was a STRIPED DRESS with three-quarter sleeves priced at £19.99 and I have paired it with a light and long FLOWING JACKET with short sleeves which costs £29.99. These pieces go well with each other but also look great by themselves and styled with different outfits. The look can be dressed down with trainers for a more casual look, as well as with ankle boots or even sandals when the weather gets warmer. Why don't you challenge yourself to spend just £50 on a S/S16 outfit of your choice and share it with me and @traffordcentre using the hashtag #intuFashion.
