The Hydradermie Treatment Facial by Guinot

I was kindly invited down by the lovely girls at All About the Sparkle Beauty Salon in Barrowford, Lancashire to try out the Hydradermie Treatment, and who would say no to a complimentary facial!

Having recently tried the Microdermabrasion Facial at Pure Clinic (read my review here), I was keen to compare the results. In terms of the actual treatment of the Hydradermie facial, it lasted an hour and was more relaxing than the Microdermabrasion facial. There was also an arm, neck and shoulder massage that wasn't included within the Microdermabrasion facial.

The microdermabrasion facial was more exfoliating whereas the Hydradermie treatment was deeper penetration with a gel to suit your skin requirements. I had the brightening and lightening gel to get more of a dewy, young fresh looking skin.

Both facials used a mechanical machine however the Hydradermie one was virtually silent compared to the crystal microdermabrasion machine. The Hydradermie machine did tingle a bit and the Microdermabrasion machine was far louder. That's the main difference in terms of why the Hydradermie facial felt more relaxing and neither were at all painful or intrusive.

So in terms of results, It has been almost a week since my treatment and I'm already noticing my skin looks and feels fresher, younger and healthier. If you are local to the Manchester/Lancashire region I'd highly recommend stopping by at All About the Sparkle, and the staff are lovely! Visit their website for more details and don't forget to like their Facebook page to keep up to date with all their latest offers and promotions!

Whilst I was there I also picked up a few Revitalash goodies...review soon?

Christmas is Coming - The Top Beauty Advent Calendars for 2015

My favourite time of the year, CHRISTMAS!!! And as any beauty lover will know, the Christmas Advents Calendars are far more exciting with beauty products as opposed to chocolate, let's face it, I eat chocolate most days anyway.

So it's November and yes I have already made my first few christmas purchases. I can't be the only who to start early...? Why wait for a mad rush to buy everything Christmas Eve with a stressful and impulse purchasing session where little thought goes into your gift. As told wonderfully by this years John Lewis #ManOnTheMoon advert, I see Christmas as a time for giving and treating those you love with thoughtful and sentimental gifts and anyone who loves me can't go wrong with beauty products.

This year I have the Selfridges Cosmic Beauty Advent Calendar priced at £95.

Here are some of the best Christmas beauty advent calendars for 2015:

- Selfridges Beauty Workshop Advent Calendar £60

- Yankee Candle Advent Calendars £24.99-£31.99

Microdermabrasion Facial at Pure Clinic, Manchester

Last week the lovely ladies at Pure Clinic in Manchester were kind enough to invite me down to trial a treatment with them. I decided I wanted to try something new that I have never had done before so I could share my first impressions and so I went for a microdermabrasion facial. Initially, I was a little hesitant as I wasn't sure if the treatment would be painful or intrusive. So after reading what the facial can offer on Pure Clinic's website, I found out the facial is a non-invasive skin resurfacing procedure that gently exfoliates away the top layer of dead skin cells. My therapist, Paula, was lovely and reassuring as she discussed my skin type, what this facial can offer me and what I was to expect from the treatment.

As their website suggests:

"Microdermabrasion stimulates collagen growth to reveal healthy new skin that looks and feels smoother. Products such as moisturisers, creams and lotions are more easily absorbed and therefore more effective after a microdermabrasion treatment. It is a painless, low-risk skin treatment that can be added to your beauty routine. Fine lines, blemishes, dull skin and sun spots can be improved with regular treatments."

After having had one treatment, I noticed the benefits immediately. The product range used was the Essentials range by Dermaquest. The relaxing massage techniques used really help calm and collect your thoughts to a place of zen and as a type of person that gets easily stressed and anxious, its a treatment that I really benefit from not only externally but also internally in the same way that I notice the benefits from having a full body massage.

All in all I am very impressed, the staff are very attentive at Pure Clinic and I would highly recommend booking your next treatment with them. As far as the results of the facial go, I have noticed an improvement to my skin both immediately after and even a week later, however it's not a facial that you can expect will cure significant scars, imperfections and acne overnight. I do believe that if the treatment is something you can afford to do on a regular basis at £49 each time, then I think regular 2-3 week treatments would make a more noticeable difference. It is also worth noting that Pure Clinic quite often have deals available to purchase on Groupon, so keep your eyes peeled and keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram for more offers and promotions!

Pure Clinic are also working in association with this seasons MCR Fashion Industry Party so make sure you don't miss out on Sunday 29th November for the A/W15 'gothic romance' themed night of fun fashion and giveaways! The Top 3 Lipsticks for A/W15 - In Collaboration with The Chic Blog

I was fortunate enough to work with the much anticipated release of Chic PR's very own blog - The Chic Blog. I was invited to write a guest post on my top lipsticks for this season. I love lipsticks, especially autumn and winter shades as you get away with more daring and darker colours.

This year in particular, lipstick trends all over the catwalk pay homage to the 90s beauty icons with shades of burnt orange, brick red and vampy violetsSo I have searched through my entire lipstick collection and picked out 3 of my favourite shades to wear this time of the year.

You will also notice that I have paired three lipliners with the lipsticks, all from the No7 range by Boots. This is optional but I find by adding a lipliner, your lipstick will last much longer.

The Orange Lipstick - Ravishing by MAC

The Purple Lipstick - Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Eclipse

The Red Lipstick - NARS Velvet Lip Pencil in Cruella

Brand Focus - Colour Me Beautiful by Natural Collection

Boots have been kind enough to send me some goodies from Natural Collection. I have always been a fan of their lipstick formula and now have had the chance of trying out some of their other products. Here's what I thought of the Natural Collection - Colour me Beautiful Package.

Product 1: Berry sorbet moisture shine lipstick

What Natural Collection say: High shine lipstick that gives an impressive slick of colour whilst moisturising your lips.

What I sayAs I mentioned I have always been impressed by the formula and lasting power of the Natural Collection Lipstick range. I have noticed the packaging has changed since I last bought a lipstick from this brand to a simple white plastic case. As I thought, this product is my favourite from this gift and I love the berry colour for this time of year.

Product 2: Lip Lines Pencil

What Natural Collection say: Easy to apply, softly outlines your lips to keep your lipstick in place.

What I say: It's ok...  I have to bear in mind that Natural Collection is a very affordable drugstore brand so I can't really compare all their products against high-end brands. Nonetheless it does the job, it definitely lasts, but for me personally it's not as creamy as I like my lip liners to be. My all time favourite lip liners are by No7. I just wish they had more shades!

Product 3: Lash Length Mascara

What Natural Collection say: Defines and extends for visibly longer lashes.

What I say: Considering my eyelashes are fair, any mascara will make a difference to my lashes. Having said that, my first of this mascara is good! I tend to get bored of mascaras quite easily though. the only mascara that has always remained a stable in my mascara collection is Hypnose by Lancome. So we will have to see further down the line if my love for this mascara grows, or dies out.

Product 4: Powder Blusher Pink Cloud

What Natural Collection say: Fine, soft powder that gives a natural hint of colour to your cheeks.

What I say: Unfortunately this is my least favourite product of the selection and its safe to say I won't be repurchasing this product. Although I love the colour payoff, the formula is very powdery which to be fair is what they advertise it to be. For me and my combination skin type, I tend to get oily T-zone and more dry on my cheeks. Therefore cheek products that work best for me are more creamy in consistency. I would however recommend this product for people who have oily skin as it would combat that quite effectively.

And not to forget, sticking with the theme, they also included a little pack of colouring pencils. I'm sure the inner child in me will put them to good use ;)

P.S. Don't forget to keep your eye out for when Boots offer 3 for 2 on all cosmetics!
