The Hunt for the Perfect Leggings

With Autumn/Winter season fast approaching, this is my favourite time of the year for fashion - who doesn't love a comfy pair of leggings, cosy jumper and winter boots. I've loved wearing leggings for years and there is nothing worse than seeing a see-through, sheer pair of leggings leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination. You could have the perfect body and it will never be attractive in my opinion.

So with my many years of experience and countless pairs of leggings I've been through, I truly believe I have found the staple 3 variations of black leggings that will always remain in my wardrobe.

PAIR 1 - The Most Affordable Everyday Pair of Leggings

The first pair of leggings, I actually have 3 pairs of! For day-to-day use, lounging around the house in or walks in the countryside, these pair of leggings can be found in the Mod Box range of T K Maxx stores. Typically I wouldn't advise of favourite clothing items on my blog that come from T K Maxx and it would be a complete hit or miss as to whether or not you happen to find the same pair, however I always see these available in the Mod Box range. They are by far the most comfortable leggings I own and they are slightly fleece-lined on the inside. The elasticated waist is at a comfortable height but I would always opt for a longer top or jumper with these. They are thick and comfortable and priced at around £11, they are an affordable staple item that I will continue to repurchase. The only downside is that they don't wear as well as my other leggings; after several washes, they can slightly loose their nice texture however at such an affordable price, they are the sort of leggings that you can wear on long walks in the countryside with wellies, and not worry if they get ruined.

PAIR 2 - The Middle-Priced and On-Trend Pair of Leggings

These were such a good find that I bought 2 pairs at the same time! They are the sort of leggings you can wear in to town on a girly shopping trip or if you are feeling a little trendy and wanting to add some texture to your outfit. These waxed biker leggings from Zara have subtle detailing on the knees and look great paired with a leather jacket and boots. I love the stretch fabric and almost leather look finish to these leggings yet they are still comfortable at the same time. However out of the three, these are probably the least comfortable so you are less likely to want to opt for them if you are having a lazy day and staying in all day. They are definitely the go to leggings for out and about, running errands in town, which living in Manchester city centre, this is a regular occurrence for me. Priced at £29.99, you can buy them online here or find them in a store near you.

PAIR 3 - The High-End Luxurious and Special Occasion Leggings

My favourite pair of the three and most luxurious feeling by far, are my Alina Leggings by Wolford; a brand that specialise in luxurious tights and leggings. Priced at £99 they are the most expensive pair I own, however if you, like me, love leggings, they are well-worth saving up and investing in for special occasions. Christmas day springs to mind when wearing these leggings. A day spent at home with the family with a nice sparkly and festive top or jumper, and paired with some suede heeled boots, these leggings feel incredible whilst at the same time, still look and feel very smart.

My MAC Lipstick Collection 2015

I have been excited to write this beauty blog post for a while now. My favourite beauty item is lipstick and one of my favourite brands for lipsticks has, and probably always will be, MAC Cosmetics. I love the wide range of colours, different variations in finish type, and always love doing the 'back to MAC' participation scheme where you take 6 empties for a new free Lipstick.

My MAC Lipstick collection has varied over the years and these are all the ones I currently own.

Cremesheen:
Creme Cup;
Shy Girl;
Sweet & Sour;
Coral Bliss;
Ravishing.

Matte:
Velvet Teddy

Glaze:
Hue

Special Editions:
Viva Glam Lady Gaga 2 in Amplified;
Christmas White Edition in Hot Gossip;
Happy Hibiscus;
Royal Azalea.

My favourite MAC lipstick to wear at the moment is Velvet Teddy. I am loving matte lipsticks and I think this is a great transitional colour coming into the Autumn/Winter season. Here's how it looks on my lips.

You will notice, I'm yet to find a red MAC Lipstick; does you have any suggestions?

The Woodland Spa at Crow Wood Health, Fitness and Leisure Gym

Who doesn't love a good spa day. I'm the sort of person who will stress about the smallest things in life, so sometimes taking time out to relax and detox can be the best therapy a girl can have! The Crow Wood Health, Fitness and Leisure Gym is near to Burnley, about 40 minutes drive from Manchester. The award-winning Woodland Spa has the prestigious title of the UK's best day spa and that it is! With facilities both indoors and outdoors, my boyfriend treated me to a couples massage followed with an afternoon in the spa and it was perfect! With a whole variety of treatments and experiences on offer, if you are in need of a stress relieving, relaxing time away form work and daily duties, I would highly recommend Te Woodland Spa at Crow Wood.

The Atmosphere - 10/10
The spa has won many awards, including Global Spa of the year, and I can see why! It was a memorable experience that I will definitely be re-living as a treat every once in a while. The variety of areas within the Woodland Spa was perfect to suit everyones needs. There is a variety of pools, both hot and cold, indoor and outdoor, saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzi's and more! I give the atmosphere a ten and I literally couldn't fault it!

The Food - 9/10
The spa has two areas for you to eat in, the Lounge as you enter Crow Wood has more affordable food, larger portions but not as good quality as the Bertram's restaurant which is located in the Woodland Spa area. This restaurant can't be faulted from my personal experience. I have actually eaten a few times here and every time the food has been great.

The Service - 8/10
The service I believe is dependant on the day and time you visit and also which area you are in. The staff in Bertram's restaurant and in the Woodland Spa area are far more attentive than in the Crow Wood Lounge, however that's not to say the service wasn't good, it's just a much more relaxed 'order at the bar' style environment.

The Price - 7/10
Unfortunately, the nine and ten out of ten ratings have to come at a price and Crow Wood is definitely priced at the higher end of the spectrum. The memberships average at around £150 a month for the Woodland Spa and around £50 for the Crow Wood Gym and Spa. The massages and treatments on offer also come at a hefty cost and you also have to book well in advance. Nevertheless, I wouldn't necessarily say it is overpriced as you do get what you pay for. It's definitely a treat though!

Have you visited Crow Wood and Woodland Spa in Burnley, Lancashire?

September 2015 Favourites

This month has been a busy one for me but as we move into October, and get ever so closer to the festive period, I wanted to share a few new favourites of mine.

1) First favourite...a book! The reason for including a book in here is that it is rare that I find time to not only start but actually finish a book. The girl on the train was one that I struggled to put down and I really enjoyed it.

2) A recent review I have done has been on the Younique 3D Fibre lash Mascara. As my review suggested, I'm super duper impressed with this mascara and would recommend for everyone to try it.

3) JORD Wood Watches kindly gifted me this wooden watch which I am loving wearing as I think its the perfect Autumnal accessory. Read my full review HERE.

4) Fourthly, a perfume which has massively grown on me. I was unsure at first but now can't get enough of the Acqua Di Parma Perfume and this will definitely be a re-purchase.

5) Contour Cosmetics is a great addition to your makeup collection. Creamy contour lasts longer and helps create a more duey finish in contrast to the powder contours. See my full review HERE

6) NARS Sheer glow is a favourite for most. I'm yet to here of anyone who has tried this foundation and not been impressed. Read a full review HERE.

What have been your favourites this month?

Autumn Wishlist 2015

As we are well and truly into the Autumn season, I wanted to share a few things I have been eyeing up recently to fit in with the delightful Autumnal weather we have recently been experiencing; although I don't want to speak to soon.

As soon as Starbucks start advertising their annual favourite of mine, the Pumpkin Spiced Latte, it's as if a switch goes off inside of me telling me we are fast approaching the festive season. Autumn/Winter, contrary to most, is my favourite time of the year; the berry lip, cosy leggings and oversized jumpers; burning candles; countryside walks and warm nights in next to the fire. How can anyone not like the sound of that?

Of all my favourite trends of Autumn 2015, the one that stands out to me the most is the all nude/beige outfit. Typically I wouldn't match the same coloured bottom half outfit with the top half outfit (unless of course black) but this neutral vibe that is seemingly as a result of Kanye West's recent fashion show is everywhere; and I love it!

1) So first on my wishlist, which is no longer really a 'wish' as I have already made the purchase, are these suede, over the knee beige boots. Perfect for more of a 'smart casual' look, the heel is high but wide making them quite comfortable. I recently paired these with ripped white jeans, a nude top and nude leather jacket. Buy these boots HERE at just £28.

2) Secondly, as I am coming into my first Autumn as a blogger, I am already more excited to write more about seasonal beauty and fashion products suited for this time of the year. I am a ‘list’ kind of person, way too organized, and prefer writing on good old-fashioned pen and paper as opposed to typing. Therefore, I want to get my hands on the Bloggers Planner. Despite wanting it now, I think its best to wait until the New Year to start afresh – Santa…?
Buy one for yourself HERE.

3) Thirdly, I want a comfy, cozy and oversized jumper to add to my collection of other jumpers. But surely it’s acceptable to get a new one each year, right? I’ll definitely get the use out of it anyway! The one I have my eyes on is this one I saw on Pinterest.

4) A delicate lace bralette looks great under a sheer or off the shoulder top. I also think it would look great under a cosy jumper like the one above where you just see a little lace peeking out the top. Luckily, I stumbled across a brand called With Love Lily on Instagram and I LOVE their range of lace bralettes. My favourite is the Champagne Frost Bralette priced at £50. However I am undecided as to whether or not I can justify spending that much, so I may ask my boyfriend’s opinion… ;) Buy one for yourself by clicking HERE.

5) Finally, and last but not least, my favourite, a beauty product! After taking inspiration from a makeup look, recently demonstrated by the beautiful NARS makeup artists in a recent blogger event at Selfridges in Manchester, I’m on the hunt for a burnt orange eye shadow (please click HERE to see the look NARS created). They used the NARS Matte Eyeshadow in Persia but I also like the look of MAC eyeshadow in Red Brick. Having light blue eyes myself, I love using earthy brown toned eye shadows and a burnt orange would be a great addition to my makeup collection.

What’s on your Autumn wishlist for 2015?
