Moose Coffee - The Place to Brunch in Manchester

One of my favourite places to have brunch on the weekends is Moose Coffee!

If you are from Manchester, or just visiting, Moose Coffee is somewhere everyone should try at least once.

It is located on York Street, hidden away from the busy high street and rumours are, that another one may be opening soon to accommodate the high demand! Speaking of high demand, and no ability to pre-book a table, the only downside to Moose Coffee is exactly that. Be prepared to queue, typically for about half an hour. If you are lucky and if you arrive early enough, you can be seated right away.

Nevertheless, having a constant queue must be a good sign, right?

On this visit in particular, I asked the waitress what she would recommend and what food keeps customers coming back. With the extensive Canadian inspired menu, I knew this would be a challenge as there is just so much to choose from! The first thing she asked, sweet or savoury? With my main weakness being that I have a sweet tooth, I, of course, said SWEET!

I ordered the Moose Apple & Homemade Salted Caramel Pancakes which cost £7.00, great value for money! A stack of three homemade pancakes cooked with cinnamon spiced apple and covered in homemade salted caramel. Served with maple syrup and butter. I also ordered a side of fresh berries - one of my five a day to ease the guilt!

My boyfriend had the Grand Bouche. Also at only £7.00, this dish consists of two pieces of sweet brioche bread riddled in a homemade egg and vanilla butter. Served with crispy streaky bacon, maple syrup and a poached egg.

It's safe to say whatever you order, you will not be disappointed with Moose Coffee - let me know your favourite place to brunch! I love trying out new restaurants.

Semi-Permanent Individual Eyelash Extensions - Pros and Cons

After weighing up all the pros and cons, I vote DO! And here's why...

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that a few weeks ago, I visited Delucia Holistics in Northern Quarter, Manchester to try eyelash extensions for the first time.

My motivation... holiday! I have heard horror stories as well as 'best decision ever' stories. I've been wanting to try semi-permanent eyelash extensions for a look time now to I decided to try them for my holiday. No make-up (or at least minimal) during a week away to Crete with my boyfriend seemed ideal so I came across Delucia in the Northern Quarter, Manchester and I booked in!

With a special discount from £70 to £35 I had lash-to-lash individual extensions after being recommended to stay clear of cluster lashes. Delucia also offers mink and silk individual lash extensions together with a whole host of other treatments from waxing to massaging.

Initial thoughts? Some people find the treatment therapeutic to have to keep your eyes closed for around an hour however if you have very sensitive eyes it may not be as 'relaxing' but either way, it is worth it in the end!

A few weeks later and although a few lashes have now fallen off I'm still impressed at the durability of them. I personally would only have them for special occasions/holidays rather than on a regular basis but that is just my personal preference. The reason being, I can't wait to be able to get back to my regular routine of mascara and eye makeup remover and when I do want that extra volume, I will continue to use strip lashes.

...and one final tip; if you are planning on having them before a holiday make sure you have them put on a couple of days in advance as you cannot get them wet for at least 24 hours but preferably 48 hours. And no waterproof mascara as it breaks the glue bond quicker!

PRO's

They look great - until you have the few last survivors!
No need for mascara
Natural or Full look - as desired
Durable - they last about a month
They are a time saver with no need for eye makeup or the removal of it

CON's

Some natural lashes will fall out - most are from naturally shedding with you natural hair growth cycle
Takes about an hour and a half to have them applied
As my holiday proved, they are beach, wind and water proof
More expensive than strip lashes
Maintenance required - look after them and DONT pull them out!

All in all, weighing up the pros and cons, I think everyone should try lash extensions at least once as some of my closest friends swear by them, however I personally miss the completely natural feeling of no eye makeup or lashes.

Daios Cove Luxury Resort & Villas in Crete, Greece

So just a couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend and I went to Crete for the first time and we stayed at a beautiful place on the east cost, about 50 minutes from the airport, called Daios Cove Luxury Resort & Villas. I enjoyed the trip so much that I wanted to share more of my experience through pictures.

We booked our 7 day holiday via an external company called Inspired Luxury Escapes. The full price for this hotel is quite steep so it is well worth keeping your eye out for any offers and promotions on websites such as Secret Escapes and Mr & Mrs Smith Hotels

There are a variety of room packages and upgrades on offer, and we upgraded to a room with an individual pool and half board food package. I would highly recommend upgrading and if ever we go back, which I'm sure we will, having your own pool is well worth the extra expense.

Please click HERE to view my 7-day Holiday Lookbook!

As for the rest, I'll let the photos do all the talking...

Enjoy!

Urban Massage – Treatments in the comfort of your own home

The latest craze in London has finally arrived in Manchester. If you are based in London, Bristol or Manchester, Urban Massage brings spa-quality massage therapy to you within as little as 60 minutes! By logging online or on the smartphone app, and creating your own account with Urban Massage, you can book your preferred massage, therapist and time slot and a therapist can be with you that same day!

The therapist will provide everything from the massage bed and pillow to the music and oils - all that you need to provide is a towel to cover yourself with.

Urban Massage has been a hit in London so I was thrilled when they contacted me after making the move to Manchester to see if I would like to try it out for myself. I booked myself and my boyfriend in for a couples massage the day after a late night (the perfect hangover cure)!

You can choose from the following treatments to suit your needs and we both decided that a Deep Tissue Massage was right for us:

-       - Urban Classic Swedish Massage
-       - Deep Tissue Massage
-       - Pregnancy Massage
-       - Sports Massage
-       - Calming Massage
-       - Energising Massage
-       - Anti-Cellulite Massage
-       - Thai Yoga Massage
-       - Reflexology Massage
-       - Traditional Thai Massage

You can even book the massage to have at your office! For more information on each treatment available, visit www.urbanmassage.com.

Whatever treatment you decide to go for, it is the same price – you pay for the time. Be aware that if, like us, you are keen to try the couples massage, you must book 2 therapists. The massage lasted 1 hour and was very relaxing for the both of us.

Much like the app-booking taxi craze UBER, the Urban Massage App uses live traffic updates for accurate ETAs and even provides a picture of the therapist along with a short biography. They payment is easy and can also be done via Paypal.

After the therapist has set up the bed, the massage starts with you lying on your back, the therapist massages your right arm, then right leg and then moves across to do your left side. The therapist then moves to your neck and shoulders (which is my favourite part!). You will then be asked to turn over for the massage to continue onto the backs of your legs, before finishing with your back, neck and shoulders.

If you are keen to see what all the fuss is about, here is a discount code for money off your first treatment RFREYAQB167X74 and feel free to share it with all your friends!

I would really recommend trying it out for yourself – let me know your thoughts on Urban Massage!
