The Ultimate High Tea Experience at Annies Restaurant in Manchester

Annies is owned by Coronation Street’s Fizz, Jennie McAlpine, and her partner Chris Farr.

Located just off St. Ann’s Square in the iconic Royal Exchange building, tucked away from the hustle and bustle, Annies is the perfect setting to eat good old fashioned food and relax in comfort and style.

For a business lunch, traditional afternoon tea, pre-theatre meal, leisurely evening dinner or a private party, Annies is the place to find traditional, good quality food and friendly service.

I personally went to Annies for my first ever experience of ‘high tea’. There is a lot of competition in Manchester to have ‘high tea’ and Annies is known for their ‘high tea’ experience. Slightly on the pricier side at £24.99 (including a glass of prosecco) included per person, the quality of the food provided is a fair representation of the price. A selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes, with a loose-leaf tea of your choice, all set in a Alice in Wonderland-like surroundings, ‘high tea’ at Annies in Manchester is a must!

Where else is good to go for high tea in Manchester? I want to try all of them!

An Afternoon at Roaming Roosters in Pendle, Lancashire

When the sun is shining, which let’s be fair is rare in Manchester, there is a lovely place set in the Lancashire countryside that is DEFINITELY worth a visit. Roaming Roosters Farm Shop in Pendle is a pleasant afternoon out if you fancy getting out and going somewhere on the weekend. They have won a variety of awards and accolades that are truly deserved.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Review

Last weekend I was sat having my nails done at the salon and the girl sat next to me had flawless skin! I asked her what her secret was, the answer…NARS Sheer Glow foundation!

Any beauty lover will know how much this foundation has been highly rated and considering I was due a new foundation purchase anyway, I went to Selfridges and treated myself that very day, I know, major impulse buy! However, I don’t regret it!

Priced at £31 for 30ml, this foundation is a high-end product. I love the glass bottle packaging, shame that it does not come with a pump though. Nevertheless, its silky texture creates a weightless feel on the skin. Fragrance free, those with sensitive skin should not have any issues and with no SPF, flash photography won’t be much of an issue.

WITH FLASH IN NATURAL LIGHT

WITHOUT FLASH IN SUNLIGHT

The foundation prides itself on appearing natural looking and barely visible on the skin. I was advised that this foundation is best applied with your fingers with the heat from your hands warming the product to your natural body temperature. However I have found that if you want a slightly heavier coverage, using a damp sponge or beauty blender gets the best result.

My skin type is combination however it has been tried and tested by all skin types as a success. That being said, it is a foundation that I feel looks a little more natural than the likes of MAC Studio Fix Foundation whilst still providing enough coverage. The range has about 20 shades; most of them being yellow-toned, and I would describe the finish as a satin matte finish. My shade is Light 4 'Deauville'.

All in all, definitely a re-purchase!

Cheap eBay Dresses from China - Hit or Miss?

With summer fast approaching, and holidays in the sun booked, I felt it was time to start shopping! If you are an eBay regular, you will have seen the clothes sold from China for just a couple of pounds each!

The models that advertise these dresses are gorgeous as well as the clothes they are wearing. However, you can't help but be somewhat disappointed when the item you ordered and waited for what seems like an eternity, are nothing like the item sold to you in the picture. Then again, what do you expect for such cheap prices.

That being said, when you do find a good piece it's like winning the lottery! I decided to put in an order and share with you my view on whether or not they are a HIT or a MISS! Let me know your thoughts and if you have found any HIT items!

A Simple Salad Recipe with a Twist

Who said salads are boring? Healthy and filling, there are so many variations to keep salads fresh and exciting. This is a recipe for those who find a salad for an evening meal too light. By adding a burger such as lamb or beef, this is like a hybrid salad; half salad, half evening meal. With summer approaching, this is fast becoming a regular addition to my food regime. I hope you enjoy as much as I do!

Ingredients:

- Mixed leaf salad (I like using spinach leaves & rocket)
- Beetroot
- Pine Nuts
- Feta Cheese

- Dressing: Manuka honey, balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper; Greek yoghurt with a splash of milk to thin out and a couple of chopped, or torn mint leaves

- *The Twist* - a burger (or two) of your choice. I like to switch it up each time with either lamb & mint; traditional beef; or pork & apple.

Prodigal Fox – Welcome to the forest!

I have to share this brand with you! Handmade and created in Britain, Prodigal Fox is an up and coming brand of tailored pieces and made to measure for each individual.

Prodigal Fox follows a unique #dresscode with a mission to keep the fox exclusive and desirable. They only sell one style of dress to one customer per outward postcode. Gone is the fear of turning up in the same dress as your worst enemy as Prodigal Fox believe that exclusivity is key!

I have been lucky enough to wear two of my favourite pieces from the collection and I absolutely love them!

The ‘Hornet 22Ais in a versatile silver and champagne hue, the Hornet 22A jumpsuit combines chic style with intricate design. The detailed jumpsuit is a combination of a soft silk satin, a gentle stretch silk satin and a deluxe French organza handmade lace fabric with hand sewn 3D flowers. The pinched in high waist and fitted bottom, is perfect to accentuate a small waist and peach like assets, which will make those dirty dogs howl. Hornet 22A was created to be worn by an assured, daring and super hot vixen.

The ‘Centerfire Ais designed in an Italian, olive green silk, it features a daringly low neckline, and gold detailing with a contrasting waist that embraces The Fox's silhouette and killer pins, with its soft pleats. Centerfire A allows you to show off your figure to maximum effect in a sultry yet classic way. The thought out tailored style is cut with a fluid fit and a cute semi backless design. This unique dress is only to be worn by a woman that balances Prodigal and Fox perfectly. Only to be worn if you are definitely not tame!
